Bregenz itself is not a particularly attractive or interesting city, but it is popular for its Seebühne (Lake Stage) and the cable car to the top of Mount Pfänder. At 1,064 m (3,490 feet), this is the highest peak along the shore of the Bodensee and offers views second-to-none. On a clear day, the full length of the lake can be seen, along with 240 Alpine peaks. In addition to the views, a self-service restaurant and a falconry are at the top of the mountain. The Pfänderbahn, operates cable cars daily from 9 am to 7 pm. Round-trip fares are Euro 9.80. The valley station is about five minutes walk from the harbor.
